ok this is kind of crazy so bare with me.

I did a little bit of research on the forum about my car not wanting to start on hot days. The answer was the main fuel relay gets too hot and needs to be replaced. It is a 91 4G4D.

Well I have not replaced the relay but the car will not start at all now and I dont know if it is the fuel relay or not. Here is the situation.

About 3 days ago driving home from work I noticed that I was getting a small amount of smoke coming out from the steering wheel console. (from inside the platic cover for the steering wheel). I took the cover off and kept driving it. I did not see any more smoke and could not really find out where it was coming from. But I could still smell it burning.

When I try and start the car it will crank and kick like it is going to start but will not start completely. I have full power to my radio and head lights but when I turn the key to start it and leave it none of my dash lights will come on like the oil, check enging, etc...

Is this still a fuel relay problem or did I fry something else? Please help this is my only mode of transportation and I need to get it fixed ASAP.

Any insight is greatly appericated!

Thanks,
Mark D

turn the key to on...have someone stick their head in the trunk and listen to see if the fuel pump 'clicks' on...if it doesnt.. replace the relay..if it does..its something else probably..

I'm going to say its the main relay (or main fuel relay as you called it)
