hey i had a race two nights ago a mustang v6 intake exhaust and headers
i drive a civic si 1990 wit a custom axle back exhaust
i raced him and shifted each gear at like 6900-7100 and i just beat him by like a tire length
but IT DOESNT MATTER IF U WIN BY AN INCH OR A MILE............WINNINGS WINNING lol
i have only had this car not even a month yet so i am 2-0

The new v6's I have seen run low 15's high 14's not too fast but it's good enough to take out like 70% of the import's on the road. watch out now.

70%...thats a pretty bold statement :disappoin

I don't have a problem with American Muscle at all.

To each his own, I say.

yea im not gonna diss all american muscle, id love be in the drivers seat of a zo6 corvette, a ws-6 trans am or anything that i could break teh rear end lose w/o tryin. still nice cars. btw drove a svt cobra yesterday, and those things have so much power. too bad i was with the girl and she wouldnt let me abus eher dads car. :grinyes: i like both imports and domestics, jus not the domestics that r slow as imports but people think they r fast.

i was thinkin about this, and all other things being equal, a V8 will put out 2x as much power as a I-4 at the same rpm. Thats why imports gotta rev so high, and therefore why they have no torque, and thats why their slow!

SiGNAL748

No. Just because an engine rev's high, doesn't mean it has no torque.

i4's peak torque is low, but we are able to hold it at a flat line due to the torque multiplication factor.

This is why imports are able to beat V6 Mustangs and V6 Camaros that push out nearly 100 more horsepower and 100 more lbs/ft.

Remember, when you look at a dyno sheet, its not important how high the torque peaks, but how long you can hold that peak, which high revving i4's are known for. Its the area beneath the curve that counts, not how high it goes.

Not all I4's have no Torque, i've got 200 lb's to match my 200HP...
