Hi All,
I have a Honda Prelude Si VTEC (Import - is that what the Si means?) and today she failed her MoT. She needs a new steering rack :-( It being an import means that it's an electronic rack (?) rather than a mechanical one.
My question is: Does anyone know of a good supplier of import Prelude parts (escpecially steering racks!) preferably in the UK, or if not in the UK, one that will ship to the UK?
You help on this would be most appriciated as I'm off the road until it's fixed :-(
Many thanks indeed.
Wayne

Hi,
Thank you for your reply.
No - the UK spec is different than the imported ones. I bought a steering rack from a local car spares supplier but they gave me the UK one and it wouldn't work according to my mechanics as it needs to be electronic (I think it's to do with the 4WS maybe...) and the spares supplier doesn't do imports unfortunatly.

Thank you for your replies.
I found a place and got my steering rack reconditioned. I highly recommend Western Power Steering (www.westernpowersteering.co.uk (http://www.westernpowersteering.co.uk)).
They were quick and not expensive.

Hi,
I don't know - you'll have to ask them. They do reply to emails very quickly.
I would imagine that they would be able to recon it though.
