Tires

I have an Reg Cab, Short Box '04 Silverado. I'm looking for bigger tires. Does anyone know if 285/75/16's will fit without having to lift it? The front end does sit lower than the rear so it does not sit level. Would the torision bars need to be cranked to level it out to put bigger tires on it? Or could I get away with 285's without having to touch the torsion bars?

i have 285's on mine and they do great-- looks better to with a full wheel well, and no you don't have to crank the torsion bars!

You can fit 285's on there without cranking the torsion bars, but it depends on how low your front end is sitting. If its too low, the tires will most likely scrub on the air dam. I turned mine only 4 rounds and I've had not the first problem.

i wanted to put 285/18's on mine. how big can i go without a lift?

the 18's ought to be fine. I've seen a 2003 with 33x12.50x17 on it on 16x8 rims without any problems, and it looks very good to me. Also, you might can fit 305's on it, but its gunna be a tight fit. I wouldnt push anything bigger than that without a lift of some kind. a 3" body lift will allow up to 315's.
