Throttle cable bracket

I have a 1985 4x4 S-10 Blazer and am attempting to change out the motor (2.8l). This is my first try at something like this. I have gotten everything disconnected for removal except the bracket that holds the throttle cable. It has two bolts holding it to gasket cover as far as I can see but when I remove them, the bracket still won't come loose. What am I doing wrong? Also, there appears to be a wire attached to the back of the motor against the fire wall. I can see it when I'm looking from under the vehicle. What is this?

Instead of taking the bracket off, just remove the throttle cable from the bracket. Get a "straight" screwdriver and push on the plastic tabs that holds the cable in the bracket. It is much easier this way then removing the bracket. If you need the bracket for the new motor, pull it off when the motor is out of the truck.

Thanks for the info. I thought about that but wasn't sure if I might break something going that route.
