Engine Swap... GSX

Hey umm.. anybody know if an engine swap on a 1997 gsx is possible.. if so what is the best engine i could do that with..

the best engine that you will be able to put in your gsx is already in there. the swaps that are possible arent worth it. just use your money to mod your current engine. just follow the tuning guide on dsmtuners.com.

Any thing is possible, You could put a viper motor in it if you wanted.As for motors that will swap in cheap and easy i have no clue i dont really think there is any, Whats wrong with the 4g63? Get it bored if you want a bigger engine.

i would do that if u really want an engine sawp.

Unless you are very familiar with engines, I would not attempt a 1g in a 2g swap, unless you can afford some down-time. Its probably worth it, but who says a 1g cant cw? I wonder wut the % chance between the two engines is for crankwalk. Probably 10:1 har har.

Its less vulnerable because of bigger rods and crank, and who knows why else. But, yes, they can CW.

I think pretty much any engine can crankwalk?

oh. i didnt know that. i juss thought that the 4g63 in the 2g was juss affected by it and not that many other cars get that.

yes any motor can CW... its also known as thrust bearing failure.

now as for the swap question, if your motor that is in there is just fine, why mess with it? if something happens to it like getting CW or bending valves then yes do a motor swap and i would suggest a 1st gen 6 bolt motor for the swap but only swap motors if you need too...

but, the 1g would be better on performence or the same as the 2g?

For all intensive purposes, it would be the same.

yo I was wondering if anyone knew what performance engine would fit into my 1999 Eclipse RS. the engine cought fire the other night and i want to swap it with a performance engine.... i dont have that much money to play with but i can afford something b/t 2000-3500$... thanks
