Just recently my 1996 Aurora would not shift past 40 miles per hour. So i took it into the tranny shop and was told that i need the selnoids replaced and a flush and filter change($350.00). To which i gave the go ahead. Now 3 days later my car is still not fixed and am now being told that it will not go it lock out?? If any one has any clue as to what is wrong or has any suggestions PLEASE advise!!

Thanks

Your first symptoms definitely sounded correctly diagnosed. Your solenoids do sound like they are bad, though the flush and filter might be unnecessary if they correctly diagnosed it right away. But if the solenoids physically broke like mine did, stray parts such as the check valve balls running around in there likely aren't a good thing.

What you said is going on now is just confusing. Could you explain a little better?
