Hello all.
I have a 2000 grand prix gtp. 55k miles. It just started making a loud rumble noise when in park or neutral only. In drive or reverse there is no noise and it runs and shifts fine. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks

My first suspicion is a bad torque converter.

Ditto. Also check to see if your exhaust is making contact anywhere. The engine can torque over a little in gear and may be moving it clear. Then in a no load situation it makes contact and a lot of noise. Had this happen to a Plymouth Volare I used to own. Good Luck.

if it does a little "jump" while shifting to drive more than likely it is your torque converter this has happened to my 00 accord EX-V6-UL three time due to my bad driving habits
