I am planning on getting 2 12" Infinity References but can anyone recommend an amp to go with it. The subs can handle 300 RMS

Thanks

it depends on how much you want to spend and you know if they are single voice coil or dual (svc/dvc, single=1 set of speaker terminals, dvc=2 sets).?
audiobahn a2502dp 250x2@4ohm rms $500+/-
infinity REF1210A $575+/-
rockford P8002 $650
" P6002 $500

I am going to guess that they are svc I am not 100% sure. I was looking at cheaper amps :) Is profile a good amp?

profile isnt the best out there, they are over-rated which will basically underpower your subs by alot and make them distort...I would go to some car audio shops and just look around alittle usually you can pick up a pioneer/kenwood/power acoustic amp that will work awesome and they arent that expensive....youll need afairly large amp though if you are trying to power 600 watts, and saying is $1/watt....but look around, check ebay. :)

we will need to know what impedence the vioce coils are, are the svc 4 ohm, or dvc 4 ohms, or dvc 2 ohms....?

don't get a kenwood, pioneer or power acoustic amp, give us the impendence info, and your price range.......

They are svc 4 ohms.. here are some other specs if needed..

polypropylene cone
deep-draw I-beam basket
70-ounce magnet structure
recommended power range 50-300 watts RMS
peak power handling 1,200 watts
frequency response 23-400 Hz
sensitivity 90 dB
top mount depth: 6-1/4"
sealed box volume: 1.25 cu. ft.
ported box volume: 2.00 cu. ft.
Recommended Q-Logic Box Type: 2, 3

I am looking for a cheap amp that will work and put out actaully what it says. So for the price the cheaper the better but still need to work good :)

Thanks!

Also are sony amps good.. i have heard that their subs suck. But what about their amps.

Also what would be better a mono or 2channel amp. I was looking at these two profile amp. The first one is mono the second is 2 channel.

remember, just because a power figure is listed, you have to think about how clean or distorted the output will be at rated power. if the full specs are not listed, (those Profile crutchfield ads are perfect examples), then you're really gambling...why would a manufacture deliberatly leave out some useful info. that could set them apart in such a highly competitive market?

those profile amps will work, but i'd suggest spendind a little more on an amp.....

first you tell 'ol boy, 'yeah, profile put out. go with it'
and then you say, 'JL is a waste'
I'm in the military, and I'll lose stripes for puttin out sh?t like that

(1) JL 13W7
(1) JL 1000/1
(1) JL 300/2
(2) Infinity 6000Cs
(1) clean-ass install
(149) crystal clear Db's. w/out breaking a sweat

bottom line,
you either got that sh?t
or you're comparing you're sh?t to it

first of all he didn't say jl made crappy prducts, he said its a waste of money, and it is.......

for an amp, the jbl bp 600.1 will put out around 650-700 watts at 2 ohms(rated at 600x1 at 2 ohms), and its a solid amp with a good reputation, that would be a nice choice for your situation, i've seen them go for as low as 150$, but thats a rarity(if thats even a word.).....

JL may sound awesome, but you can get way better for lower cost. www.edesignaudio.com (http://www.edesignaudio.com) Look up the nine.2

ohh, my bad...i put down JL 300/2, naw dog that's for highs and/or mids, even though it'll still crush that nine.2
what i meant to put down was the 500/1. (http://www.jlaudio.com/amps/5001.html).
for what you want believe me it's worth the price. they go for $400 brand new and half price off Ebay.
I'm not talkin sh?t because it used to quake in my trunk, I'm just talking the same sh?t everybody who f?ck with JL talk.
if your always wasting money on bullshit...
then, the good sh?t will start to look too expensive...

You haven't heard the nine.2, it might be louder, but I bet the nine.2 might beat it out in quality, avionixx type build... avionixx will own a jl amp in quality. Edesign works close in hand with tru, avionixx and tsunami. Tru will rape JL in quality

look man, Ashah started the thread asking for someone to recommend an amp. I'm recommending JL, because in my book, (and everyone else I know) they're proven winners.

as far as what I meant by the show circuits, I'm getting deployed to Iraq soon, so I'm not goin't be able to hit up the show and sound competition circuits until about this time next summer.

If those companies really got that hot sh?t, I'll see 'em out there when I get back. I mean, I would think that I'll see them out there. No disrespect intended, but with the amount of money I'm putting into my daily driver, I got to go with names I can unquestionably trust. I'm so convinced, I'm going to continue to recommend 'em to people who ask.

there is no way to tell how good those Ed amps are gonna be, they are a completely new line of amps, not copied from anything else, so i dunno if it would beat out JL or not. JL makes nice stuff, but on subs you wouldn't be able to tell the difference, i'd say go with the jbl 600.1, puts out more power than the nine and is cheaper than the JL.....

I would have to agree JL is very pricey the only thing im willing to buy from them are there w7 subs
