hey all,
i drive a 97 lumina LS, 3.1... you all know the kind... a few weeks ago i noticed my service engine light was comeing on occasionally.... i thoguht nothing of it cos the seat belt light likes to come on for no reason also... but then the service engine light was staying on and i noticed i was useing alot more gas... a few days later my idle became rather low and shakey.... on friend tells me the egr valve should be changed or cleaned or something.... someone else suggested spark plugs... any ideas
Also... people seem to enjoy braking into my car, so my friend and i plan to hide a fuel pump kill switch somewhere in the car.... he has done it on his honda CRX and it works great... what we need to know is where the wires for the fuel pump run on the lumina
Thanx

You should have the VATS already installed in your car. That is the resistor pellet in the key, and if the system detects anything but the right value it kills the fuel pump anyway.
As for the SES light, head on up to autozone or similar and ask to have the codes pulled. Come back with your results if the autozone tech can't tell you nothin.
