So the news has been out for a while. Jaguar isnt planning to bring its X-Type Touring stateside. I wish they would, but I guess its smart for them not to. The U.S. is the most lucritive market in the world, but not for wagons. If Jaguar introduced, say, a Land Rover based SUV (with much better quality, of course :naughty: ), they might sell it here. But i actually e-mailed them about it, and i got the response: We are not at this time planning to build an SUV. We will continue to let our sister company, Land Rover, build SUV's. I think the X-Type Touring looks great though. Its got clean lines, and the tailgate looks natural. But the taillights do look like they belong on a Volvo. Since it isn't sold in the U.S., it doesnt have to meet strickt U.S. emmisions requirments. But mabey the Dodge Magnum will reopen the wagon craze of the 1960's in America, and then Jaguar might sell them here. One can only hope...

Yeah it's a shame, nice car. One that looks much better in person that it does in pics.

i just read that the X-Type Sportwagon WILL come tp the US in early to mid-2005. I'm happy about it. Wagons are coming back if you like it or not. The Dodge Magnum, Audi S4 Avant, etc. So reply if you know when it arrives.

I've got an XJR now. My salesman just called me (Scottsdale Jaguar - Arizona) and told me the new wagon is in stock. I had asked him to call me when he had one to come look at. So they are here in the states.
