NEED HELP!!!! Lancer ES

I just bought a 03 Lancer ES and was wondering... is there any thing i can do that will boost my HP with out bracking my bank.
Were I live it dont take alot to beat some one in a race just wanted to know what i can do that will help me along.... profile is at the bottom of the page of my car

all factory as far as the body is concernd
