both IMO, but mix em a bit to your statisfication ( sp )

some really good speakers to replace the stockers, and a small sub in the back works for me, not to overdone, and can still be heard from a distance when you want to be

speakers numver two...higher dB rating and greater RMS...ofcourse, you do realize that this is just like asking which car is faster while giving a mod list...without testing on the track, no one really knows. same with speakers.

i would recomend Profile amps to run your speakers. the ca440 is a california series that is 50, or 60rms x 4 @ 4 ohm & stable @ 120 x 4. it has a higher thd, i think .03-05. its only like $75-99. i really dont think there is a better amp for the $.

also take a look at the ca800. 200 x 2 @ 4ohm or 400 X 2 @ 2 ohms. mind you thats "RMS" for $129-$140

i have never heard about california series... i am great fan of jl audio but it cost me an arm and a leg :( that is why i am finding alternatives... i dont want any big subwoofers at the trunk of my car. insted i thought i better buy good speakers and tweeters which will give around the same effect as having a subwoofer ...

and also can someone explain wat is a crossover and wat does it do excatly? (in simple english please)

their profile amps, and their is nothing that substitutes for air displacement. go with a visonic 10 for $99

A crossover just seperates Frequency's, hi's go to tweeters lows go to 6.5 mids. For speakers logic 6*9's are the bomb. But the problem is that u have to put a spacer in. Audiopipe conponets(6.5 mid and 1'' tweeter) are good. For subs Rockford Fosgate. The old skool rockford fosgate amps are the best for subs IMO and kenwood's are the shit for mids and highs. For sub boxes the depends on what kind of music you like. Loud ass rap and really deep base go with a ported. For really fast metal and shit like that go sealed. For a little of each go bandpass. Ebay stores are ur friends.

I though for deep bass a sealed box was better.. who knows I am just starting to figure this audio stuff out :)

ok this is what i am planning to do...
6.5 inches speakers with a pair of tweeters and crossovers for the front

6 *9 inches speakers with a pair of tweeters and crossovers for the back

and a good amplifier to support all the speakers and tweeters
so now my question is can i use 4 crossovers.. and also i havent decided on the amplifier yet.. that will be the last thing i will buy until then i can use the factory mitsubishi amp :D

for the speakers.. i am considering JL audio or infinity kaapa .. i dunno whether jl audio is worth the extra 50 dollars :(

ok im really into car audio and i can tell you right now that jl is good stuff but its not as good as what everyone makes it out to be and its way over charged for. the best speakers are mb quart imo but if you dont have the money. but my suggestion is go down to your car audio place and take in a cd that you know really well and ask them to put it in and listen to it on all the differant speakers your interested in because no one can tell you what the best speaker is for your car. its like asking someone who they think is the hottest girl in the world, its all personal opinion.

about the using 4 differant crossovers. most of the component speakers for the front of your car will come with a built in crossover at least that goes for the higher brands such as kicker, alphasonik, mb quart, and alpine.

i do like your choices though as far as using the 6.5's in the front with tweeters and having 6x9's in the back. that is my current setup right now.

For the rear just get a set of 6x9's they have mids and tweeters built in. I would say stick with the infinity's they are good speakers. You can use as many crossovers as you want. But I would say just stick 9x6's in the rear.

the thing is that infinity kaapa 6*9 speakers for the rear comes with crossovers and tweeters :D same for the front 6.5 speakers.

here is the link for the speaker not bad for the price i think.

look in the OFF TOPIC section for an explaination of my missing persons....

aight but for the topic at hand...

i heard a Viper system [mids and hi's] that a friend replaced an MB Quart system and i was VERY impressed. they were backed by dual 13w7's and they sounded much better and cleaner and crisper and were very pronounced. needless to say i'm going to get into some of those pretty soon.

the sub system i'm looking at right now is the Alipne 10'' type-S bandpass box system. it is about 1500 less than the system i really want and it is the only box that can fit in my trunk for what i want to accomplish. i need a bandpass because of the Spyder. these are installed on boats and i got turned on to one of these when on a boat. i thought he had WAY more subs that what was comming out of that box! so i figre it will rock pretty decent in the Spyder, untill i can get over to MN to Jake's place to get the real deal in there ;)

the real masterpiece behind any system is a kick ass head unit. i would highly recomend Eclipse head units.

oh and Jake is the resident mobile auto expert in this muzza...

oh and about the 1 or 2 setup, i like 1 because of the better hi freq response. human hearing is from 20hz - 22khz...

and i found a link to a good description of the viper stuff...

now putting price into perspective is kinda scarry. and on another note, the best speakers IMHO is Boston Acoustic. but they are even more than those ones....

My friend as full Boston Acoustic set up in his STI. Dam ran him like 1200 bucks for just 4 speakers.
