hey guys, i wanna know, is there any soudn difference if i get a cat back and stock header for the prelude si 4th gen. and also, can some on verify what is a catback. does it go all the way up to the header of what. thanks. and is there really any performance gains if i get a catback exhaust. and short ram filter. also, is there any real performance difference from getting a short ram filter and just replacing the inside filter, on the stock air box. cant u just get from K&n their filter for the stock air box. and with the stock air filter, the engine heat wont really go into the box wont it
thanks
thanks

Alright, well a catback replaces everything after the catalytic converter. Yes, modifying the exhaust system varies the sound greatly depending on which brand you choose. I'm not sure about the intake stuff, I have a cold air intake, not really any experience with short rams.

ok, with cold air intake or short ram filter, with my current civic d16 vtec, i have a short ram filter, and theres anice sound which comes out of it. like a hissing sound. if i keep the stock air box when i get a prelude, and just change the filter inside with a K & n, will it also make a sound like the short ram version. what makes that hissing sound. thanks

The reason the short ram sounds different from the stock airbox, is because there is no longer a resonator.
So putting a K&N filter in your stock airbox will not make your car sound any different.

Unless you also remove the resonator.

Correct. I'll second that.
The resonator is located under your airbox.

Yea, it's under the airbox, but through that oval hole. So it's in the fender, not the engine bay, but under the airbox.
