my car brings exhaust gases into the inside when the windows are down and the other day i popped the hatch and lked around at the seal, it has a huge chunk taken out of it. So my dad called around when i was at work. Honda wants 90 bucks for that seal. thats a fricken rip off. what should i do ?

try www.slhondaparts.com or www.hondaautomotiveparts.com
they are dealers but offer a better price than going to your dealer.

sounds pretty scary health-wise... little anecdote: when I first bought my car the all motor d16 burned oil but I was getting super migraines from air vents (front of car) and I finally noticed that the header wrapped in thermo-tec was cracked in the collector flange and again underneath causing that oil to leak out and fume up into the car... it never smoked or anything but I replaced that header and no more migraines... drove it burning oil for over a year until it blew up, but at least the migraines went away. Be careful...
