Hi all,

From what i've seen on the post. When changing engine oil you only pour 3.5 qts. My god! Am i screwed up or what? Since i've been doing it myself, i pour 5 quarts of Mobil 1 Synthetic oil. Can someone please tell me if i'm screwed up big time or what? Please let me know, thank you very much!

Hard to say, it can result in increased oil pressure which can lead to leaks or blown seals, and/or it can lead to the crank splashing in the oil in the pan and whipping it into a froth that won't circulate properly and lead to oil starvation in the top end.

Just take your X to Jiffy Lube where they put 5 quarts in everything regardless too why don't ya...

I have to ask. Didn't you check your oil on the dipstick when you were done and notice it was way overfull?

That goes back to the everpresent problem of the Nissan dipstick. Man is it hard to read. Even if you did look, you probably couldn't tell if it was overfull or not.
