keyless remote for 1998 intrepid es

i bought two remotes off of ebay and they look the same as mine and i tried to program both of them according to the owner manual. but i can't get them to work.this is where you hold the unlock button in for 4 secs and then hold panic button in and then a chime and start programing. i see some posts here say you must find link data cable under steering column and ground pin one. is this right or is their smething different . any help.

no that actually is the way to program the remotes for your car; that's what I had to do with my 2002 intrepid. ground pin 1 and when the locks cycle press a button on the remote your programming and that's it.

speaking of remotes.. I just bought a 98 intrepid and its loaded.. but it didn't come with remotes so i thought it didn't come stock with it.. but now i'm reading this, i guess remotes were nto included... so how do i go about getting these.. or best approach. i like to avoid dealer.. and ebay and i are allergic to each other..

Like GM,the numbers on the key fob has to match or it will not work.
