Automatic rear wing

Hey I'm new to the vw forums, my girlfriend just purchaced a 2001 VW Beetle 1.8T. We cant figure out if the rear spoiler pops up. If anyone knows if the 01 came with the auto wing It would be appreciated

Under the dash is a switch to put it up manually, but you have to reach I believe its 98 mph in that year for it to go up automatically. Check out http://www.Newbeetle.org or http://www.VWVixens.com for more NB info.
