ok, im buying a upper intercooler pipe for my 2g gsx. i've decited on Dejontool over road race engenerring & dave' Uicp becasue of the options avaliable. I would like to know when buying the "L" pipe, should i splerge and get the "S" pipe to make it a total upper hard pipe setup? is it a good HP/$ idea? or is that "S" pipe not worth the $ for the perfomance gain that i'll be reciving, or is it more just for looks??
Thanks.
Thanks.

I splurged myself and got the "S" and "L" pipe, looks good not sure how much difference it made in the hp area though. I liked my choice might as well go with all hardpipe...relatively inexpensive compared to other pipes.

Many people do 1g or aftermarket bov at the same time as upgrading the L pipe, so it's hard to tell whether the car is faster because of the more boost retained or the less restriction of the L pipe. It is certainly a necessary mod to get an L pipe, and you will definitely feel more power over stock! Try to find someone who bought an adapter for the 1g bov onto the 2g plastic pipe...they should know ;)

ahh, i just bought a 1g bov off ebay tonight, i plan on putting it on with the uicp. i actually plan on upgrading the intake, filter, mbc, & bov at the same time, and of course a gauge. i just want to know if the S pipe is worth the $ for the gain you get out of it.. so if anyone can tell me, i'd really appricate it..

Going full hard pipe is more about reliability than power gain. That soft rubber hose can fail, and its under that mesh so its hrad to tell. If you have a stutterbox or an automatic, build some boost with the hood open and you can see that thing expand a lot. It'll do it in a pressure test as well of course. I Got rid of mine long ago. The nly good thing about the stock rubber pipe is that it comes off easy :)

Thats hard to judge. If youre trying to be a low budget hero, I'd spend the money elsewhere. If you want a little more piece of mind and 80 bucks is worth it to you, might as well get it over with while you are ordering from there anyway. You're call :)

just get the l pipe and the 1g bov....the other stock "pipes" arent too restrictive....spend your money on removing more restrictive shit in your car

and about the gain....you will see more high end torque but below 4000 rpms you wont see much of an increase so dont be too worried about it....just my experience

80 is only a couple bucks shy of a 190 pump..
