My friend just got his dads galant, I think its like a 95 or something. And he is fixing up the car to make it fast or just sell. Now I think he should just sell it and get something else, but he wants to see what he could do with it first because his dad replaced a lot of stuff on it. Its still a good car and if he sells it he wont make back what they spent. So now to the question at hand. I know that they make a VR4 galant, but they didnt sell it here in the US. (Well at least they didnt sell it for his year) So what would it take to make his a galant AWD like the VR4? I know it wont be cheap but he wants to know. Can he just order the parts needed to make it AWD as if he was order replacement parts for a VR4?

I own a 1992 Galant VR-4(nothing like his year) but you could get the engine from a JDM importer and all the other parts for it also. Anyway, it would be cheaper to just import an AWD Galant VR-4 and swith the vin plates.

Making a VR4 isn't easy, first is money, then its gonna take alots of time, because you will have trouble fitting the AWD system at the rear, alots of works had to hand made to factory spec, if its made out of factory tolerance, you could possibly destroy the car or making undrivable. So its easier just to import a VR4 instead.
