intrigue abs light

My ABS light and my brake light are both on. I checked my alternator output above 13.8, I disconnected the ABS unit then the battery cable and let set for 10 minutes but the light remains. The brakes work fine but the antilock system doesn't. Is the dealer my only next option?

check previous threads about vehicle speed sensors/hub/bearing assemblies. Sounds like your problem is a bad sensor. Possibly. My dealer said that is the case 90% of the time. They charged me $40 to scan the car with their diagnostic machine and pinpoint the location of the problem. Then I replaced the appropriate sensor/bearing.
