Gee, did Williams win the championship in 2002? I don't think so! Tamiya produced a model of a car that won one single race! (And I seem to think that was due to a collision- anyone see a parallels to Monaco this year?)

I certainly would not bet against Tamiya producing a BAR Honda from this season- but if it comes, it will be in 1/20, not 1/24.

But what will Tamiya going to write on the first page on the instruction? How much time Honda engine broke down?

I think the bar is tamiya's next F1 car. Specially because of the success Button and Sato have had this season.

I will refrain from comment, though I am sure you all know what I'd say.

We discussed this recently on the "Damn Ferrari" thread. (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=252502)

And MPWR. Trulli had Schumacher and the rest covered well before the shunt in the tunnel! :)

I wouldn't!

In two years, people are gonna be scratching their heads, saying, "remember when we thought Fernando might actually win a title some day? What were we thinking?"

Kind of like Montoya now.

As cocky as he is I don't think montoya himself ever though he would win.

Hmmm... At a similar stage in his career I guess you guys wouldn't have considered Nigel Mansel as championship material either? But what has this to do with model cars? There's an F1 foum for that kind of thing :)

Sato is the first Japanese driver to finish the 3rd since Aguri of what(?) 14 years ago? Plus, in case of Aguri, all the top contendors like Ferrari and Mclaren retired from the race. BAR is one of the most recognized team of 2004, so I think Tamiya has already decided on giving the green light. Even Tyrrell Yamaha driven by Ukyo was kitted, so why not?

Off the top of my head: Aguri Suzuki Lola, Japan 1990. Piquet won with Moreno second both driving Benettons. Was the race Senna took Prost out at the first corner, and secured the championship.
