Ok, this may sound stuipd, and if its already been talked about, I'm sorry. I can't find anything about this. But, what's the difference, and can something, say a superchager, work for a OHC engine that's made for a DOHC engine. thanx

OHC? i think you mean SOHC and DOHC. SOHC just means Single Over Head Cam while DOHC means Dual Over Head Cams. With two cams the work is divided up so the engine is able to work easier giving you more HP. A supercharger is a supercharger, it does nothing more than force air into the engine, so as long as you can make it fit, you can put any SC on almost any engine.

sohc has limited rpm range but has a very, very slightly gain in low-end torque by anbou 3% and is not smooth revving. a dohc has higher rpm rev range, is smoother and sometimes produce more horsepower at a better stronger mid-range and and usuallly has better aiflow, a supercharger is a supercharger and it is true it really does just force more air into the engine at higher psi.

Both SOHC and DOHC can be used in different configurations. If you by DOHC means 4 valves per cylinder that type of head offer higher torque over the whole rpm range, low valvetrain losses, low exhaust emissions and a good base for variable valve timing.
