My lovely ex-girlfriend spilt coke on her console and now her drivers side front window rolls down by itself everytime the car starts and randomly at times. I told her I would take a look at it sometime this week but want to know if there are any tricks/tips to getting the console out. I didnt see any screws or anything but didnt look too hard. Ive taken out plenty of console in Mustangs, Camaros, and Trans Ams but never a Benz. Any help would be greatly appreciated and thanks in advance.

Chances are you are going to have to replace the window switch assembly.
The wood trim containing the switches should be able to be removed seperatly from the entire console. Around the gear selector lever there should be a black, plastic, rectangle trim piece. That is removed by just putting a pocket screwdriver under it and prying up. The wood trim is only held in by clips. Just pull up on it, can't remember if it's easier from the front or rear. It's really easy, you shouldn't have any problems.

You're best bet would be to detach all the connectors from the window switch assembly and clean them with electrical connector cleaner. Hopefully that will work but chances are it won't. You'll probably have to replace the switch assembly which is about $2-300 if memory serves me correctly. Good luck!

Haha, sucks to be her. I took everything out and cleaned everything the best that I could but no dice. Its like the thing has a mind of its own. I think its hilarious but its annoying her. Thanks for your help, it made things a lot easier.

It's also fun to switch around the connectors so the wrong window rolls down when you push the button. :iceslolan
