Raising Rev limiter

whats up guys. i wanna know how can i raise the rev limit on my LS integra? once i install my cams and valve springs, i will need to raise my revlimiter in order to take advantage of these cams. is there any chip that will do this for me. i dont trust those cheap ebay chips. i just want to raise my rev limiter; no timing or extra fuel needs to be programmed into the chip. i will tune my engine with the s-afc. so does this chip exist.

one user on this forum, i think it was whtteg, told me that there are places that burn u new programs for your ecu. i might look into that, but i just thought that u guys might have some answers for me.
thanks again

You need to buy an eprom burner/programmer.

i just checked on ebay for the eprom burner. not too sure which ones are the good ones. do u have one? if u do, can u burn me a chip with only a raised rev limit of 7500 rpm for my 97 LS. thats all i need. if u can do this, tell me how much it's gonna cost

Unfortunately I don't have one :icon16:

Contact AcesHigh from the Prelude forum, i'm pretty sure he has one.

To get the most out of your cams you really need to strap that car to the dyno, a burnded uberdata chip from the net, wouldnt show you very good results because every car is different. if you have some money to drop get Hondata and put it on the dyno, you can program many many things including a higher rev limiter

not trying to steal your thread or anything, but i have a hondata s200 that i want to sell. it sounds like you can use it and i have one to get rid of.

i didnt know that hondata supports the non-vtec motors. i thought it was only the VTEC ECU's. also if i do get hondata, am i gonna have to switch my ECU from OBDII to OBDI? and how will this effect my emissions testing? my car is registered in N.C. and they check how the vehicle is running by pluging into the diagnostic port of my car. will swapping to an OBDI ecu cause any problems with that?
and the only thing i really want done is just a raised rev limiter. i have an S-afc to adjust fuel, but the only thing i cant adjust is ignition timing and thats where the Hondata will probably come into play.

yes hondata supports non vtec motors. i was running it on my ls turbo. i also have the skunk2 obdII to obdI conversion harness for sale also. i dont know how it will affect your emissions testing, but if you are worried about it, all you have to do is unplug the hondata ecu and plug your old one back in. but if you did get new cams, you really should do more than just adjust your fuel and timing. you should get that thing on a dyno and let them tune it for you. otherwise, you wont be getting the most potential out of your upgrades.

i think i paid around $800 plus tuning. would you want the obd conversion harness also? if you do, i will sell the whole thing for $400, but you will need a new ecu. i paid around $150 for a hondata chipped ecu.
