Tranny Problem

Hi, all. I have an 87 nissan 300zx turbo with an automatic. Ok, so i was leaving the house today and got to a stop light. I went to take off and i had pretty much no power. I almost red lined my car at about 5-10 mph. It works fine in everything but first. Any ideas what the problem could be? Thanks

sounds like a flow problem, try getting it flushed

It sounds as if the first gear clutch pack is not engaging. Hydraulic fluid pressure engages it, something is interrupting the flow. About half the time a trans flush, fluid and filter change will fix this. If not, internal repairs are required.
