Hey,
What's the optimal shift RPM for a '95 sunfire? (regular, not GT).
Thx!

optimal for speed or fuel economy?
fuel economy - should shift no higher that 2500 rpm with a light foot on the gas. this is an old rule of thumb to go by, and is the way most older people are taught and teach younger drivers.
speed - take it to just under redline each shift, or try toget the shifts so that they each start at around 3000-3500 RPM. this is from my experience with my 95 GT, but it should be a starting point to work with.
Either way, drive for the ride, not for how it looks.

ah so my guess was right. I felt the car stop picking up speed after around 4000 rpm...But my friend with his Nissan 240SX goes upto 5100 rpm so I thought I was a bit off. :P
