Drifting RC cars

I don't know if any of you read the article in Superstreet recently on them... but they are pretty cool... I had a touring car for some time but quit running it because I had no where to race... now I'm back into RC cars and more than ever... I took my old Yokomo MR4 TC and put electrical tape over my low profile tires for it and started driftin with it. yokomo does have shaft driven RC Drift cars. they come in 4 bodys: AE 86 hatchback, FC3S, 180SX/240SX hatchback, S15. you can put other bodies on later if you perfer but the bodies which come with the kit have muffler, Mirriors, and on the flip-up light bodies you can adjust the stage of the headlights (off, half, full). These don't come on most other bodies. other things on the kit include: diskbrakes (for looks don't really work), and the drift tires (Radial Drift Tires now available). you can convert your current Touring Car RC car... if you have one... it's cheeper just I recomend getting the Drift Kit shocks they give more than normal TC (touring car) shocks do. anyways www.yokomousa.com has the kits if you want to check it out.

I race r/c cars, and drift cars have been out for about a year. The hole consept isn't catching much attention though. I hate drifting personally, i like going fast while going straight instead. Before drift cars came out though, people would put ducttape on the tires, then drift. I live in WI though, so we just drive on the lakes during winter, much more fun, plus you can ice fish at the same time.

I saw those RC cars at D1, pretty cool.
Almost bought one, but didn't bother to ask the price.
Now that I see they're pretty pricey, I'll wait. :icon16:

ya electrical tape is kinda bootlegging it... but hey I got 3 sets of tires why buy another... when some modding will make it work as good or better. cauz I'm broke. but the best thing to do is by a Touring Car (non drift kit) for around $200 and then mod it to drift.
