i have a 92 ranger that wont start. when i go to crank it over nothing happpens and the battery level drops down to the minimum. i had my battery, alternator, and starter all check out at autozone and they are all fine (the starter is also brand new).
the next thing i did was change the extra starter solenoid on the inside of the fender.
it still wouldnt start so i tried to arc the posts on the actual starter and also the posts on the solenoid on the fender... nothing. one thing that i noticed though is that there was electricity going to the starter because when i arched the starter the power in the car (the ringing when the door is open) minimized.
next i checked all of my fuses in the engine power box and under the dash... they where all fine.
could it be my ignition switch or the actual power cables from the battery to the starter? could it be that something is not grounded, etc.?
thanks for the help

Check the ground connection on the block. If this is corroded, it may not get enough current to turn the starter. BTW, I have a '91 on the battery charger right now with a similar problem... Good Luck.

You can check your batt cabels there could be a short. Or check all your spark plugs make sure nothing is in the gap . If you have not spark then it won`t even try to turn on or over.

thanks guys..... i feel like an idiot though... it was just corrosion on my cables, and they didnt even look corroded.
