Hey Fajita,

I have a 98 Chevy Cav as well with close to 92,000 miles. My car is still going strong however I am having problems with my engine mounts. I just had my front and rear engine mounts replaced thinking that this would solve my problem with the whole damn engine shaking when I shift gears. Well this hasn't stopped it from doing it. Do you know anything about the transmission mount? It shifts pretty hard out of drive into reverse. This is the last possible mount that I may have a problem with....I was desperately hoping it wasn't so.

Anyone with the same exact year and engine size maybe you would know exactly where the pvc valve is. The repair manual has a different engine so I didn't have the correct illustration. I have oil starting to seep out of the top of the engine, my mechanic said what he thought was pvc valve isn't, it may be some type of air duct or something where the oil may have gotten clogged inside causing oil to seep out because air is not able to get through properly. I don't have a valve cover or head gasket problem either. Any suggestions??

Thanks,
J

if you have the flat black valve cover with rib lines there are two hoses connected to it one has what looks like a nut goes in kind of like in the side of the valve cover that is where the pcv valve is located not many people know about this one hope this helps you and your mechanic
