help removing flywheel bolts

Well when i try turning the flywheel bolts the flywheel moves ive already tried everything.I already tried sticking a screwdriver in the teeth and hold it against the block but the flywheel still moves.

If I can remember correctly when I replaced my clutch I used a small punch (round chisel). I dont know how you tried locking it but I just put it between 2 teeth and pushed it against one of the raised lines on the block. Or you could remove your inspection cover and put a screw driver or chisel in between the teeth and it would just push against the block. Also if youre not using one try to find a buddy with an impact those bolts are REALLY TORQUED!

Ok there is such a tool to help you out and its pretty cheap. If you dont want to spend any money just put your wrench on the bolt and wack it with a hammer or something.

you're going to have to hold the flywheel. I like to jam something inbetween where the inspection plate bolts on and a flywheel tooth. get some muscle and hold that shit still (you'll have to have someone else do it) and those pesky flywheel bolts will surrender to your manliness.

or you may also be able to lock it up at the crank pulley...

or you may also be able to lock it up at the crank pulley...

I would *NOT* do that as i've seen numerous times the crank pulley breaking from sticking something in it, but thats just me.

you need 1 tool... Impact wrench

This is what happens when you jam a screwdriver in your flywheel teeth, you knock a huge chunk of the tranny bell housing off.

Do it the smart way and have a friend hold on to the crank pulley with a a good sized rachet while you loosen the flywheel bolts.

ouch...lol

jesus.. how in the world did you possibly do that.. I brace against the thickest part of the transmission housing..

Im with Kun, you guy's need to invest in some air tool's!
