new suspension!

Alright well I've been told that I need some suspension work on my teg, problem is I only have 500 to spend on the springs/shocks. I was saving up for a tein system but... oh well now is the time to buy.

Anyway I was hoping some Wheels/tires/suspension gurus could help me out here. I don't want much more than a 1.5" drop. I was looking at RS*R springs the other day that lowered 1.6 front and 1.4 back and they were only 230 I think, not bad I suppose. Now as for shocks I dunno, looks like GR-2s are all I can afford, but are they suited for my application...

Anyway please help, recommend anything of quality that fits within my budget and drop range.

PS: While I don't need anything amazing I do want a little added performance. I do not ever see myself taking this car to an actual track, but I do love hitting twisties on the street.

Thanks in advance guys!
Will

Not much you can do with $500. Be patient and save a little bit more and do it right the first time.

I'd say Eibachs or Neuspeed springs with Tokicos or Koni Reds.

yeah I know 500 kinda sucks but I also have to get new tires.... and 2000 in rent is due in about a week:disappoin.
The suspension on the driver side is shot and doesn't even hold the car up very well anymore, the driver side is about 2 inches lower than the passenger side. About a month ago while putting rotors on I noticed that drivers side front and back tires were wearing out on the inside.

now I just checked the tires again because I got a flat on the driverside and they are way way worse than they were a month ago... so I hate to get new tires and have them wear out again, so its all or nothing new suspension and tires.

anyway thanks for the advice

On a budget, Go with some H&R springs(some of the best) for $150.00 from www.tirerack.com and KYB GR2 $180.00 or Tokico HP $215.00 from www.ebay.com
You will even have some $$$$ left over - new upper strut mounts www.tirerack.com $13.00 each - possibly some poly strut bushings.
Number one thing to do is ALIGNMENT after the new suspension is installed.

i would get some H&R or eibach springs. H&R will be cheaper though. also for the shocks, since its not that low of a drop, i would agree with jackassi and get the gr-2's or tokico blues/HP. i would personally buy these items on ebay. u will get em for a really cheap price. the H&R's will be about $125 and the shocks will be $180 (GR-2) and about $240 for the tokico.

H&R will give a smooth ride. i had neuspeed srpings on my car and i didnt like them at all. the ride was way to stiff.
