causing my lights to not come on and that horrible beeping every time I come to a stop. I'm thinking it's a button or something to do with the pedal itself. The brake will be of but it shows it is still on. I'm about to bust out the hammer and do some surgery. Any help is greatly appreciated.

There is a electrical switch on the park brake assembly. Either this switch is out of adjustment or the wiring from switch to body module somehow got shorted out.

I don't know how easy it is to access this connector on the park brake assembly but my first suggestion would be to disconnect it and see if the light goes out or not. If it does then the switch on assembly is out of adjustment. If it doesn't then the wire from switch to body computer got shorted to ground somewhere.
