No fuel- intermitent- please help

My 89 V6 pickup (2wd, EFI, 3.0L) ins't running. It has spark but not fuel.

It will sometimes start then die a few minutes later and not start again. The efi fuse under the hood is good. The efi relay clicks when the key is turned on. I bypassed the efi relay with a shunt wire and it did not start. The fuel filter (along the frame, under passenger door) is new. I bought a code checker and it says nothing even tho the check engine light comes on.

Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks in advance.

if you do what this says your fuel pump will run whenever the key is turned on.
