89 cherokee not starting

Ok, Just replaced the engine in my 89 cherokee with a good used one. Has a new head and all new gaskets. Engine turns over fast and then bogs down for a second. Getting spark to plugs but no fire. getting fuel to fuel rail. i've tried messing with crank position sensor and now im out of ideas. Any HELP :banghead:

Messing with CPS? That ain't the same as changing cps. Try this website;

ok, here goes.... engine was turning fast then bogging down or trying to fire out of order. If i unplug the cps, the engine turns nice and free.?????????????? What exactly does the cps do? why am i getting spark at the spark plugs (and fuel) but no fire? im lost

Assuming you've removed the Dis cap and spark plug wires, you may want to recheck the firing order.

Sounds ike you have distributor or plug wires crossed Did you have distributor out. Check firing order. If you remove cps you aren't going to get spark it creates the spark Dale [email protected]

did you replace the timing chain?
