RPM tachometer not working! Help!

Does anyone know what would cause the RPM tachomoter not to work? It just sits at 0. I also noticed that the cruise control doesn't work, althought the light on the switch does light up.

I have checked all the fuses (inside and under the hood) and they are all fine.

I'm not sure when it stopped working, but I noticed it about 1 or 2 days after I took to a R&S automotive. Its been a while so I don't know what I had them fix (either the distributor replaced or heater core..just don't remember)

When I noticed, I took back to them and they said nothing they would have done would have caused that.

Any ideas?

only guess is that you have a sensor that has gone out. (engine speed sensor perhaps)
