95 mr2 turbo vs 98 GSX. Both cost around the same. Which would you rather have as a dialy driver, track car, drag car and the car i will have more fun driving. I'm going to school to be a dealer at a casion and I"m going to be coming into a lot more money. These are the 2 cars in my price range that I like. turbo, non fwd, modabilty andl looks

Well personally I have a soft spot for the second gen GSXs. And IMo they have tremendous potential if you are willing to spend a bit on them.
Basically drop in a 1st gen 4g63 6 bolt, change its front and center diffs to quaifes, get one of road race engineering's suspension kits and you'll have yourself one heck of a track car.
On the other hand the mr2 will be a tremendous track car too with a superior MR layout. however if will be much less practical than the GSX and it will suck in the snow and bad weather.

the gsx will probably be more practical, cause it has more room, and although the rear seats are small, you can still have friends back there for short trips. i think the eclipse gsx can handle really good, with some good tuning. if you were to autocross, i think the mr2 would be better suited for that area, because of its midengined design, shorter wheel base, and lightness. drag wise, im not sure, they re both good at it, although the gsx has awd, the mr2 is lighter, and midengined, but im thinking the gsx would be better at it. reliability wise, the mr2 will probably be more reliable based off of jd power, but then parts, and labor is higher on the mr2, proabably not that much higher though. my friend has a 97 gsx, and its reliability doesnt seem that bad, never had any major problems, or never really had a lot of problems. ive driven both cars, i have an mr2 turbo, and ive driven the gsx a lot of times, both fun to drive, but i think the mr2 is more fun. for everyday driving, the eclipse seems like it would be more comfortable. overall, for everyday driving, performance, reliability, and room, the 98 gsx seems like a slightly better choice.

I already have a 4 door car, so I'm not looking to fit a lot of people in my car. I"m getting either of these cars as a second car just to tool around with and have fun on the weekends. I"m really starting to lean towards the MR2, it just beats the GSX it almost every way

They both are great looking cars...and yes the mr2 is supposed to be more reliable, but the eclipse can be a reliable car too. The mr2 would probably own a gsx...but the mr2 takes a lot more skill to drive at the limits and if you lose control, it's mr so don't even think you'll be able to drive your way back to control it.
If you really want an mr2 then go for it...hell I want an mr2...but 4wd is great if you can afford the slightly lower gas mpg...even in the rain you should definitely consider 4wd...mid-engine cars are only better than 4wd front-engined cars if they are in nearly perfect weather conditions...
You say you have another car...but how often do you really want to drive that when you have a faster machine that is a lot more fun to drive around? I had this issue when I bought my sentra spec-v and still had my cavalier...the cavalier got sold in a matter of days...I never wanted to drive it again...if you get an mr2 you'll constantly want to drive it when you are carrying 4 people...but with the eclipse you can carry those 4 people and even though they'll be uncomfortable...youll be enjoying your eclipse...
