Headliner Falling

The headliner in my 91 Suburban is slowly falling, the grey covering is separating from the insulation. I have tried two different brands of spray cans of glue and the liner sticks to the insulation and looks great. The next day the liner is down again.
Is there a spray glue that will hold and not let go?

This has been happening to GM products for 30 years. The fabric is
attached to a foam material which deteriorates over the years. By the
time you see it coming loose, the foam is disintegrating. Sometimes
interior spray adhesive holds for a while, but it's messy and a PITA.
Sorry, but I haven't seem a neat way to fix this GM problem.

It appears the spray on adhesive works from foam to board but NOT from cloth to foam....takes the special manufacturing.

You can buy the headliner fabric at most fabric store. There was a gray, blue and black when I looked. The hardest part for most cars is getting the headliner board out the side doors.......not a problem on the suburaban with the rear doors. Been told it takes about $40 of fabric and $10 of spray on adhesive and a day to get the job done.

I checked my local auto detailing shop and they wanted $200 for the job.

Will tell you more when I get it done myself.

I was told hair spray works.

Had this happen on one of my 89 Cadillacs. Tried every kind of spray, glue, etc. but finally took it to an auto upholsterer for $100. Looked great! Bite teh bullet and let the upholsterer do it.

IA-Surburban is right. Its alot cheap to do it yourself. Go to http://www.wlsheadliners.com/ for a fast tutorial on it. Get the fabric from the fabric store and I used a spell spray glue that the fabric store had in stock. it took about 3 hours from start to finish. Have fun!
