I am in the market for a jack and jack stands so that I can start doing work on my vehicles myself.
The heaviest vehicle for the jack and stands would be a Suburban.
What weight rating would hold a 'burb?
My first thought is a 3-ton jack since total weight is usually under 6,000 lbs. But if I am not supporting the whole vehicle at once, will 2 or 2 1/2 ton stands do?
I don't have a 'burb yet but am currently putting our Windstar up for sale.
Thanks
Roger

We have Norco jacks at the shop. 2ton heavy duty. Very nice piece. You can get them delivered for $350.
Or just go to Sears when the jacks are on sale. $99 with stands.
