I asked this question earlier and found several answers. What worked for my 2003 is the following:
BTW - the "Connector" referred to below is the OBD-II connector found under the driver dash, near the rear of the center console. Ignore reference to the "scan tool" - just ground pin 1 as indicated when programming. Ground pin 1 of the Data Link Connector (black 16-pin connector under dash driver's side). Pin 4 of this connector is a ground, so placing a jumper wire between pins 1 & 4 will accomplish this. Grounding pin 1 tells the system you are getting ready to reprogram it.
A maximum of four different codes can be stored in the
EEPROM memory (four different transmitters can be used).
When the code for the first transmitter is registered, the
previously registered codes for all transmitters are cleared.
Therefore, if you are using four transmitters or are adding more
transmitters, the codes for all transmitters must be registered at
the same time.
1. Check that the doors lock normally when the key is used.
2. Insert the ignition key.
CAUTION: To prevent damage to scan tool MB991502, always turn the
ignition switch to "LOCK" (OFF) position before connecting or disconnecting scan tool MB991502.
3. Connect the scan tool to the data link connector. NOTE: If the scan
tool is not used, ground terminal (1) of the data link connector.
(This will connect terminal (1) of the data link
connector to ground, and the system will be in secret code
registration standby mode.)
4. Press the hazard switch six times within 10 seconds.
NOTE: At this time the code registration monitor request is
output (all doors locked and unlocked) and becomes
registration mode.
NOTE: The hazard warning light switch is turned on and off
alternately whenever it is pushed.
5. Press the transmitter switch, and then press it two times
within 10 seconds of the first press. This will register the
code.
6. When registration is completed, the code registration
monitor request is output (all doors locked and unlocked).
7. If you are using two or more transmitters or have added a
second transmitter, the same registration procedure should
be carried out within one minute after registering the code
for the first transmitter. After the second registration is
completed, the code registration monitor request is output
(all doors locked and unlocked).
8. Registration mode will be canceled under the following
conditions:
• When the secret code for four transmitters has been
registered;
• When one minute has been passed after registration mode
started;
• When scan tool MB991502 is disconnected (the ground
connection is broken);
• When the key is removed from the key cylinder;
9. After the registration is completed, carry out the following
work, and then check that the keyless entry system operates
normally.
• Remove the ignition key.
• Close all of the doors.
Hope this helps. If not - review the old posts for variants.

Try searching this thread, another I had found was as follows:
To reprogram your keyless entry system for a new key fob:
1) Turn ignition to OFF.
2) Ground pin 1 of the Data Link Connector (black 16-pin connector under dash driver's side). Pin 4 of this connector is a ground, so placing a jumper wire between pins 1 & 4 will accomplish this. Grounding pin 1 tells the system you are getting ready to reprogram it.
3) Close all the doors.
4) Turn the key to ACC, then back to OFF. The power locks will lock/unlock. The system is now ready to be programmed.
5) Press a button on your key fob.
6) If you have two key fobs, press a button on the second fob within 1 minute of pressing a button on the first one. Both must be programmed at the same time. If you only have one remote, press a button on it 2 more times to signal that you only have one.
7) The doors will lock/unlock to signal that the codes were received.
8) Remove the connection between pins 1 & 4.

ok now what about if you have 2 keys and 2 fobs. I purchased my car with one fob and one key. I have since bought a second fob and had it programmed at the dealership(for free thank god). But i purchased another key and want to get all 4 working togetther. the directions above look like it is just for programming one key and 2 fobs.

If you only have one active key, you need the breakout service box (dealership) to program a second. This is part of the anti-theft feature of the PATS system. Once you have 2 keys programmed, you can do a third and fourth yourself. They'll charge you $50 at the dealership for programming the second key and I think the keys are around $40 retail each. You might be able to get a key blank off the internet - beware, however - you want a PATS key (transponder) - if you have the anti-theft feature (my 2003 has that).

Thanks, i figured i might have to go to the dealership since i am programming a key. I picked the key up on ebay for about 10 bucks so i dont mind having to pay for the programming.
