Well....I took the rev limiter off of my bike since there is really no need for it (drop a little weight heh heh), even though I never need to push it past the recommended rev's due to stress on the bike and the fact the power band always drops before the "old rev's limits", but it did make 6th gear quite interesting, heh heh, I also can't seem to findout what happened to the electronical governer :grinno: .......As for "how fast does it go in first gear?"....Well there is no way of really knowing unless I want to blow my engine!
Z_Fanatic
07-23-2004, 10:38 PM
huh? see it how far you can push it to redline. it only puts stress when u jamm it in and hold it there long to get "more" rpm out of it. if you think that puts stress on the engine, think about what turbo does when you boost it all the time.

Yeah I'll go test it out tonite

07-24-2004, 05:53 PM
don't go and f@#k anything please.(bike related anyway)
I don't go all the way to full redline. I will be in first in traffic and wait till I can boot it (or should that be glove it) out to the front safely. By the time I'm about to change I'm about 11000, about 1500 off but as I change it will be close. I don't wait until I'm there and then think 'oh shit ,hmm I should change now'
to eg. a mate of mine has an r1 that has fully shit its gearbox only 12000 k's (7500m) but he wheelies everywhere. I can appreciate your desire to keep it in one piece.

I think I can get to about... 40 in first gear on my bike. I hate my bike. :( I rode my dad's viffer the other night, and I realized how pooey my bike is.

my 0-60 time is around 4sec but i don't usaully take off quick from a standing start. that 4 sec is what i read in a mag

don't quote me on it, but I thought it's suppose to be faster. friend of mine claimed he could get 3 sec from 0-60 out of his '03 f4i. though he rarely ever cranks it all the way up.

around sydney theres not many places to get over 150 without being nailed by the cops

No it was MPH, and "I didn't want to push it", meaning I didn't want to over rev it too much and mess it up. But 250mph isn't too fast for a bike to go, you should see my bud's turbo Busa sucking down a shot of nos :grinyes:!!!! Now that is one scary mother of a bike, and trust me when I say it's as fast as hell cause I helped him tune it!!!! I live in the boonies kinda, lots of abandoned roads and such around here, so I make sure not to endanger anyone. Also, I can't really say I hate living where I live even though it's like PlainsVille.

considering Suzuki has errors with their speedo on the top end, not sure if Kawasaki does as well. You will understand why it's hard for me to believe you were doing 250 mph on the mark. Took off the rev-limiter as well? Not even those F1 cars do hardly push over 200 once it's up there and keep it for long. Im going go to guess you were doing 190-200 at most, as sportbikes tend to have faulty readings in the peak. What was your 0-60?

What Blayne said:
Fastest Motorcycle Speed
America's Dave Campos, riding a 7-m (23-ft) long streamliner named Easyriders, set American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) and Federation Internationale de Motorcyclisme (FIM) absolute speed records with an overall average speed of 518.450 km/h (322.150 mph), and completed the faster run at an average of 519.609 km/h (322.870 mph), at Bonneville Salt Flats, Utah, USA, on July 14, 1990. The Streamliner weighed 1133.9 kg (2,500 lb) and was powered by two 1,500 cc Ruxton Harley-Davidson engines.
It is said that this record attempt drew the largest ever crowd to the Bonneville Salt Flats. Rather than attract corporate sponsorship, the Easyriders magazine "went to the people", offering each $25 contributor the opportunity to attend the event and have their name printed on the side of the Streamliner. Over 10,000 took up the offer, although the crowds began to thin out after a few days.
In the 16 days it took to break the record, the team endured every sort of mishap and hiccup: on the third day, Sunday July 1, the Streamliner went into a wobble and crashed at around 300 mph. Campos emerged unscathed apart from a bruised thumb, but the Streamliner needed extensive repair work that kept the team of 15 – and several of their sponsors – working nonstop for three days on repairs.
The front tire was also a constant source of trouble, since the only tire suitable for the attempt – 5.50 x15 Firestones rated at over 400 mph – were last manufactured in 1967, and the team had to make to with a limited number of rare second-hand specimens.
The streamliner is owned by Joe Teresi, owner and publisher of Easyriders magazine.
Although it's on two wheels, on the outside, it's nothing like a motorcycle, but, resembles one of those experimental rocket cars.
Fastest Bicycle Speed
The highest speed ever achieved on a bicycle is 268.831 km/h (167.043 mph), by Fred Rompelberg (The Netherlands) at Bonneville Salt Flats, Utah, USA, on October 3, 1995. His record attempt was greatly assisted by the slipstream from his lead vehicle. Fred has been cycling professionally for nearly 30 years and during that time has held 11 world records.

Hey, my buddy says his built Hayabusa did 110mph in first gear.
I could see that as pretty accurate. When you turbo a bike changing sprockets is almost always necc. What gearing was he running? A friend of mine had gone up 2 teeth on the countershaft and down 3 on the drive wheel sprocket. Combine that with a little over 300hp at the wheel and 110mph is pretty reasonable. My stock busa will do about 90mph in first. When I had it geared taller it would go a bit over that but not much.

I could do 55 in first on my Cbr600 ,a little slower than most BUT thats due to dropping a tooth on the front sprocket.
