im planning on getting either an integra and making a widebody kit for it... this will be my first attempt at bodykit making so i have a few questions. and yes i did look in the faq and how-to.
1. should i/do i have to use styrene?
2. what kind of putty should i use? im confused on which one to use for making bodykits.
3. how do i make the big vents that go behind the wheels on a widebody kit? do i use styrene?

Styrene is reccomended, but not necassary. You won't use as much putty if you use styrene. Since you're doing a wide body kit, you'll need to bend the styrene to adapt to the shape of the wells. Heat it up a little with a candle or lighter. Epoxy putty is best for bodykitting, especially for widebody. It's alot easier to shape then regular putty. As for the vents, I don't know how to make them.

there is no need to heat the styrene ! use .15 or .20 styrene and it will be fine
do a search, all those question were answered before. But styrene is a mush have thing if you want to scratchbuilt body kit

you get the point.. this is how it work
be sure your styrene shame is very stable, or the putty could crack. Wait for few hours for the styrene to glue

Pretty much. Depending on what putty you use, you should wait 12-16 hours for it to dry. If it's quick type you only have to wait 6 hours. When you sand it, use somewhere around 400 or so grit.

not that much !! Just work with thin layer and you have a drying time of about 1 hour. FOr final sanding, wait 1 day

I work with thin layer of putty. 2 hours is ok for that. if you use tick layer, you need to wait for fully dry.. touch the putty, you will know when it's dry. For Final sanding, wait a full day

3. how do i make the big vents that go behind the wheels on a widebody kit? do i use styrene?
This may help, I added these vents on my civic pretty easily. I just cut the hole out in the size and shape I wanted and then I added a straight piece of styrene at an angle to make it look like its double vented. hope this helps
