Happy Friday everybody, I am new to the forum. I am looking to buy a 2000 323ci and just have some questions. First, I don’t know much about BMW, but I have always been a big fan. I have an option to buy a 2000 323ci 5mt w/sport and 60k miles for $17K. Do you think it is a reasonable price? Have there been a lot of problems with this model. Also what are my mod options as far as CAI, Performance Chip, Grounding Kits, and exhausts. Actually, I think it might already have an after market exhaust on it. It wasn’t stock looking, but I am not sure.
I am looking forward to reading your replies, thanks in advance.
Any other information about this model would be greatly appreciated.

The only 'problem is the coupe is new this year in the US for the E46 body style and they always have 'teething' problems, great car otherwise. I don't give price advise, just look around. Look at Bavarian Autosport as a starting point for aftermarket stuff, there are lots others.

Thanks for the reply jeffreyb4me, what do you mean by "teething" problems?

Unfortunately, BMW and probably other manufacturers leave the final 'engineering' to the dealers and customers which means just about every new body series they deliver goes through a series of updates at the dealer level as BMW 'discovers' problems, 'engineers' fixes, and releases these 'updates' to the customers while the vehicles are still under the new car warranty. The 4-door models are usually worst as they're the first to be introduced but each new body gets it's 'bugs'.
I haven't heard of any big things with the E46ci's but I'll check on Monday.................................
