1995 keyless entry and touch pad entry not working

I got a new remote and tried programming it, couldn't get it to work, the touch pad on the door doesn't work either. Haven't had the car long, the door code was on a plastic card with the owners manual. The fuse is good and the door pad lights up at night when you touch the buttons, also dome lights come on. But when I punch in the code the doors will not unlock.
Any ideas?

How about the two key combination 7/8 & 9/0, does that lock the doors when their unlocked?

Look at the right side trunk hinge arm to see if the code on the sticker matches the one you found on the plastic card.

7/8&9/0 doesn't do anything. The sticker on the hinge is different from the little plastic card. I was told to check the controller in the trunk, in that drop down tray there are 2 controller type units. One further to rear of car and centered and one a little more forward and off to drivers side. Which one is it? I do not see any stickers with a code on it on either controller. Someone told me there might be a sticker on the controller. Thanks for the reply

The Keyless Entry Controller (module) for 1995 is inside the drivers door. There will be a code sticker on it. If the sticker was removed you can still ascertain the code by opening the module and "reading" the pattern of the code-set resistors, how their soldered onto the circuit board.

If 7/8 9/0 aren't working I'd suspect the module went bad, it's disconnected, or possibly the keypad is partially disconnected ? If it lights up when depressed, i'd suspect the module first.
