This junk yard near my house has a 94 prelude vtec engine for sale. He wants 600 for the engine. Should i get it?

You are too lucky, I've never been that lucky around here, where do you live? Anyways, any idea of mileage or problems with the engine? If not, I would try to get it personally, depending on if it came with anything or how much I had to pay for extra parts to swap it.

600 is a good buy, but get the engine compression/leak down tested and asks if it has a crank/start up guranteed
if mileage is good then you a a very lucky person
i got my fingers crossed for you that everything turns out ok
good luck

I wouldn't trust an engine that has been sitting in a junkyard for who knows how long, with who knows how many miles. Engines don't like to sit.

i beg to differ. my family owns a "junk yard" (automotive reclamation engineering unit). we sell 500+ motors a year. all with start up and 90 day warranties. i'd say, tops, maybe 5-10 of those motors actually don't run or have problems. but also, we are honest people, with a good rep.

check and see if they are ARA (automotive recylers assoiation) certified, and if they use the Hollander locating system. all good yards would.

also the cheapest i've ever seen in the nationwide Hollander database would around 1500 for an h22a high miler.

also, all those jdm motors you see online for sale. they are all "junkyard" motors.

where did you get your h22 you swapped in Aces? :naughty: just out of curiosity.
