I've got a 2000 Kia Sephia with 82,000 miles on it that I use to commute.

My son was driving it and it shut off exactly like when a timing belt breaks.

The odd thing is that the clutch is now mushy and does not completely return on its own.

The car will not start or even try to turn over at all. All that happens is a single faint click when the ignition is tried.

Could it be the timing belt, and if so why would that affect the clutch ?

Or is it some sort of clutch problem ?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

sounds like a bad alternator and drained battery because of that...
