i was seriously considering buying an integra, until recently when i drove one. No acceleration at all, and don't tell me about all the boltons i can do.
what is the most torquey, low-end-power car you can get for under 10k? I was lookin at firebirds, but they seem like they can get a little iffy on drivetrain reliability

If not the Trans Am/Z28, get a Mustang GT, preferrably an older 5.0.

no replacement for displacemen eH?? Did you go anywehre near redline when you drove your Integra? Thats where all the power is. Even in the S2000 theres not much power until you get her above 4k.
Definitely stick to american cars if you weren't satisfied with the Teg. Tran am, mustangs or whatever you call those pieces of shit

300zx/supra/vr-4. i'd never sacrifice handling on my car just to decrease 1 sec out of 0-60. Anyway, as for 4 bangers, did you ever test drive a 95-98 240SX? Decent launch and plus side is, you can drift with it if it's your thing. RWD, 155 horse, and great 25 mpg. And looks somewhere between R32 and R33 Skyline GT-R's.

I think he's decided on a V8. And for that, the Mustang 5.0 is pretty much tops :P

it wasnt my car, i was test drivin one at the dealership. And the guy selling it was in the car, so I wasn't gonna go racing it to redline on him. No way i'd be able to get on his good side and land a good price then.
Anyway. What years can you get a 5.0 mustang in?

the best year, i will be getting one as well, are 88-92. you want to look for the lx 5.0 however. its a little lighter than the gt.

It's been there for a while, but recently everyone is asking me that same question. :D
Anyway, the bike below is MV Agusta F4 SPR. Made with carbon-fiber body panels. It was recently featured in "I, Robot" movie.

And kill myself in it? :D No dude, Im just getting into riding. You can't be a new rider and go all out on a 750 CC bike. Your typical Race Rep 600 CCs has the potential to do 0-60 in 2.5-3 secs with plenty of mid-range torque to spare.

hehe, yeah, one can start on a 500 cc or tamer 600 cc and eat up your local V8s/muscle or otherwise, all day long. and all of it costs less than $3K. 95% cars out there are obsolete compared to 2 wheelers - sportbikes, even 250 CC could be running 12-13s.

now is it a good idea to be racin on a motorcycle?
let me rephrase, is there more than a 30% chance of death?

it's a terrible idea to race on the streets. and no upstanding rider would race a cage (car) considering it's a given who'd win. your local roads have so many hazards, it's simply dangerous. and that's why you have local tracks and speedways. however, some of the riders feel stupid sometimes. and definitely there's a 1000 times as much risk riding a motorcycle than car. You can pay only 25% attention on driving a cage, for motorcycles, you need 110%. but the positive sides make up for the downsides. to say the least, there aint nothin like it in terms of everday speed, thrills, freedom, adrenaline, and your ass gettin tight :D.

let me just answer your question here... Honda CBR 600 is one of the best bikes to start off with, i did, and most my friends who have one did too. Insurance is way less than cars.(i only pay 150) Good Luck

how about the R6

kcap, if you're serious about it, I'd highly suggest to ask your questions in the respective section than take any loose advice, that I call bread crumbs. last thing you'd want is end up with a R6 or CBR600RR.

Hey, do some research if you're looking into bikes. Theres a lot of things involved (MSF course, motorcycle license, etc) befor eyou actually start riding. And the thing is the stupidest thing you can do is buy these R6s and CBR600s and GSXRs you see these fags riding around on. As far as the Ninja500...take a look at the 250. Look for some websites on teh Kawasaki Ninja 250, probably the best starter bike out there IMO.
