sierra steering shroud

Does anyone know how to remove the tilt wheel knob to replace the steering shroud? I have the replacement shroud but to reinsert I have to remove the knob on the tilt wheel lever.

The tilt knob (lever) just pries out of it's recepticle.

Just put a small screwdriver between the lever and the base of the steering column and pry lightly.

ok. I thought that this black knob was supposed to come out. I can't figure out what is holding it in. Usually I can figure this out and remove an object on that basis. I gently try your suggestion. Thanks.
