Favorite brands

Just wondering what brands people prefer for their models.

I prefer Tamyia for their quality but notice Fujimi have a better selection of kits.

So how do the Fujimi kits match up with the Tamyia kits???

Fujimi kits lack in interior details, but they have a wide selection or street/tuner cars

Tamiya on the other hand is one of the best companies out there and they specialize in showroom and full race versions

are there any others out there that people recommend?

That pretty much sums it up for me too. I don't have any experience with anything other than those and Revell. However for muscel cars they can't be beat.

I find Fujimi is also a little 'chunkier' in their molding.

I once made a Harley Davidson model from Revell.
It sucked. Not only was i very unexperienced, the model was full of superfluous plastic. It wasn't seamless.

Ok, dunno if that was correct english, hope you know what i mean.

Fact is, it was a rather bad model.


I just started working on a Tamiya model. I must say, it looks very good.

I love Revell stuff and have done quite well in national competitions with them. Tamiya is an awesome company for exact replicas but doesn't really encourage creativity with it's products.
I also enjoy super-detailing, so I must have an engine to work with!!

I personally is a Fujimi guy, due to they're cheaper and has LARGE selection of street car kits.

Hazegawa and Aoshima on the other hand also make some good kits that tamiya or fujimi don't make.. making them another good name. Their quality are of somewhat more detailed then Fujimi, but not as well as Tamiya. Hazegawa tends to have off scale wheels thou.

I don't care much for the japanese kits because the subject matter does'nt interest me !:apuke:

:biggrin2: I'm also trying to reproduce models I had as a kid and the kit mfgrs are helping me by rereleasing old kits,they aren't state of the art,
quite the contrary they're just old friends I'm glad to see again :stormzap:

I am trying to build an EVO Extreme on a Tamiya base using Fujimi parts! That'll be a continued project when I get back!
