replacing alternator on 94

How hard is it to replace an alternator on a 1994 explorer and do you need any special tools?

not hard at all it sits right there on the left side when u open the hood went through 3 altenators till i went with one that was alot more powerful cause i have alot of draw on it from my lights and stereo, should only need a ratchet and other hand tools nothin major

I was able to manage my alternator change on my 97 ford escort not too tough. If you know someone who's changed one before you may ask them to help you, it could save you a few hours unless your familar around your engine.
